A Beautiful Post by my daughter about BLM

For anyone who disagrees with the BLM movement and the protesting, please educate yourselves and don’t rely on mainstream media as a source of information. Floyd was not a criminal. Yes, the cops involved in his murder were arrested. But how many cops who have killed innocent Black people NOT been fired or arrested? How many have been fired but STILL given pay? THAT is what we are fighting. The SYSTEM is broken and flawed. This isn’t good vs bad cops. BLM vs racism. This is RIGHT vs WRONG. The movement is making an effort to EXPOSE this flawed system so that the future is better FOR EVERYONE, but ESPECIALLY Black people, as they are consistently targeted, hunted, and murdered by police officers. Do some research PLEASE. This movement has already sparked change! And progress! Any lives lost ARE HORRIBLE and WRONG, regardless of whether the person was a protester or a cop. The fact remains however that the police are out in military gear attacking, beating, and killing protesters while the protesters are peacefully exercising their rights without any gear whatsoever. If you have an opinion, you’re free to that opinion. But this isn’t opinions. This is right and wrong. Life and death. At least educate yourselves. Standing in solidarity is the LEAST we can do as privileged people who have never had to face ANYTHING remotely similar to what Black people have to live with daily.
